Come Discover Huron-Wendat History, Culture And Traditions
You will be greeted by your aboriginal host, who will then invite you into the long house, a traditional Huron dwelling. Here the Huron way of life in the 1700s will be explained, followed by a visit to the meat smoking and drying hut. Next, you will enter a giant teepee structure, where various First Nation lifestyles are illustrated. A shaman will share medicinal plant secrets and introduce you to the mystic world of masks. You will get an opportunity to meet with the clan leader, hear legend recitals and attend traditional dance performances. Your visit includes a savoury buffalo, caribou, deer and trout meat traditional dish, served with wild rice and corn.
