Birdwatching at Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Preserve

The dank fragrance of humus, myriad shades of green, and great flocks of migrating birds characterize Cap-Tourmente in spring. A short 45-minute drive east of Québec City in the Côte-de-Beaupré area, this magnificent wildlife preserve stretches along the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River. Walking along the many trails, nature lovers will discover the habitat of many different bird species.

Take in our various interpretation tour activities under experienced naturalist guidance: Introduction to birdwatching, Walk the Saint Lawrence, On the tracks of the Black Bear, Tourmente Rally. In the company of expert ornithologists, join our special migratory bird observation tour featuring the Canada goose, abundant in May. During winter, walk along 10 km of snow-packed trails, lined with over 40 bird-feeding stations, and two heated shelters.
